Got a call on Tuesday from Eduardo at George Davis Antiques in Savannah. He needed a lamp repaired. That, of course, was no problem, but he needed it done by the next day to ship to a customer. It just so happened that I was on Derenne Avenue when I took the call. I drove to the shop on Bull Street, picked up the lamp, took it to my shop, replaced the cord, and returned it to the customer within an hour.
I can’t always do this, but I have earned a new customer who will send more business.
By the way, the lamp is a beautiful 18th century cast iron balustrade that had already been made into a lamp.
